Review:

Matt Biolos, founder and co-owner of Lost Surfboards, has been working with Lib Tech for a few years designing boards. Matt helped design the Lib Tech Rocket, a staple in their line now. New for this year is a chopped-down twin version, the Rad Ripper. While at Interlude 2024, we swung by the Lib Tech booth to see what was new. The camber Skunk Ape and the Rad Ripper caught my attention and were added to my list of boards to try out on the snow. The Lib Tech Mayhem Rad Ripper did not disappoint! It’s one of several camber profile boards in the line now.

The Rad Ripper was super responsive and fast edge-to-edge. This snowboard features a classic camber profile, providing excellent pop and responsiveness. I enjoyed the camber profile and felt at home within a few turns. It has plenty of snap and pop and performed well everywhere I took it. The Rad Ripper is on the stiffer side but is softer between the feet. It does not have much torsional flex, but I was impressed with how well this board carves and holds an edge. This board wants to be ridden aggressively, It came alive with speed. It was very stable and pushed through uneven snow with ease. The twin shape offers versatility and performs well in both directions, making it ideal for freestyle, park, and pipe riding. The progressive sidecut allows for smooth carves on ice and hardpack, while the width keeps your toes from dragging. Built with a poppy Aspen Paulownia core, the Rad Ripper offers a solid, lively ride with a firm flex rating of 6/10. The unique artwork by Steve Carranza adds a touch of style to your ride.

Overall:

The Lib Tech Rad Ripper is a fantastic choice for intermediate to advanced riders seeking a high-performance freestyle snowboard. Its classic camber profile, twin shape, and progressive sidecut make it a versatile and fun board to ride. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or looking to push your limits, the Rad Ripper will surely deliver an exciting and dynamic ride.
