Review:
I often ride in the Tetons, where winters are notoriously harsh and the temperatures can plummet well below zero. I was eager to see how the Death Grip Glove Co. Werewolf Mitts would hold up in such extreme conditions.
The PrimaLoft Gold 170g insulation provides incredible warmth, keeping my hands toasty even on the most frigid days. I’ve used them on several sub-zero rides, and not once did I feel the bite of the cold.

One of the standout features of these mitts is the combination of ripstop, nylon, and leather. This blend not only offers excellent durability but also ensures that the mitts can withstand the rugged demands of outdoor activities. After a few months of use, the mitts show no signs of wear and still look brand new.
Though I’m not usually a fan of long cuffs, I have to admit that the design of these mitts is highly effective. The cuffs do an excellent job of sealing out snow and retaining warmth, which is crucial when riding in deep powder. The Hipora waterproof membrane is another fantastic feature, ensuring my hands stay dry even in wet, slushy conditions. This waterproofing has proven itself time and again, making the mitts reliable in all types of weather.

The Ripper Zipper is a game-changer, providing quick access to my fingers when needed and offering efficient heat dumping to prevent overheating or sweaty hands. Whether I’m adjusting gear or just need a bit of ventilation, the zipper is convenient and easy to use. The Strangler Strap, designed for a secure fit during active use, ensures the mitts stay in place no matter how aggressive my riding gets. The Strangler Strap is elastic so it can be pulled very snugly.
Another great addition is the pass pocket, which provides easy access to lift passes. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in terms of convenience. On those particularly cold days, the pocket can also double as a holder for hand warmers, adding an extra layer of warmth when needed.
Overall Impressions:
The Death Grip Glove Co. Werewolf Mitts are an essential piece of gear for any serious winter adventurer. They offer unparalleled warmth, durability, and functionality, making them a top choice for anyone facing the elements. Whether you’re braving the cold in the Tetons or hitting the slopes elsewhere, these mitts will not disappoint. I highly recommend them!
